Meet Dr. Lanna McClain

I can't imagine a better career than being a pediatrician. For me, the best part of practicing pediatrics is seeing children grow from infancy to adulthood, and impacting that life positively. Of course, the hugs I get from my patients are pretty great too.

As the mom of 2 college-age children, I really do understand the parenthood stuff from tummy aches and sniffles to anxiety (in both kids and parents). I think it's very important to listen to the concerns of parents and the kids I see. When diagnosing conditions and developing care plans, I always ask myself what I would do if this was my child. At the end of the day, we're all working on raising kids who can become as healthy as possible as adults!

My growing up years were spent in Odessa, Texas, and I obtained both my undergraduate and medical degree from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). I've been a pediatrician since 1996, and helped open Cook Children's Pediatrics in Burleson in 2010.

Outside of the office, I enjoy reading, yoga, playing the piano (guitar, banjo and ukulele - too!), boating, fishing and paddle-boarding with my husband!

Dr. McClain is the best doctor and spends time with my son when he is sick. She does not rush us out the door if we have questions, but instead she talks with me until I understand. We are blessed to have her as our pediatrician! – Patient family

    We arrived at the clinic early, checked in, and I took my daughter to the restroom. After exiting the restroom, we didn't even make it to the chairs before being called back. The vitals and intake was done quickly and thoroughly and Dr. McClain entered very shortly after! Dr. McClain did a thorough physical exam of [...] and was very kind and complimentary. We love Dr. McClain and all the staff at this clinic! From check in, to check out. The kind lady at the check out desk overheard me talking about Barbie's for my daughter and made sure to search for Barbie stickers to give her. 10/10!
